August 2007 APOA Pin Shoot

APOA (Alaska Peace Officer's Association) held another Pin shoot Sunday, August 26th.

On 8/28/07, at 2:00 pm, the Alaska Peace Officer Association and the Aleutian Rod and Gun Club put on a Bowling Pin Shoot. This was the second Pin shoot this year. There were three events: Revolver, Semi-auto handgun and teams. This was also the second shoot where shooters under 18 were allowed to participate. Shooter under 18 were required to have their parents present to assist them as needed. There were seven shooters under eighteen including: Killian Baker, Monty Baker, Noah Betzen, Zac Peterson, Julie Rowland, Kimberly Rowland and Sharon Rowland.

The winners for Revolver: 1st place Forrest Bowers, 2nd place Shane Elliot, 3rd place Roger Rowland
The winners for Semi-auto: 1st place Jamie Sunderland, 2nd place Forrest Bowers, 3rd place Dan Masoni
The winners for the team shoot: 1st place Jamie Sunderland/Marty Diaz, 2nd place Andy Pillon/Zac Schasteen, 3rd place Ken Bezold/Robert Hartsock

The shoot was well attended and the weather cooperated making it a most enjoyable event.

The next Pin shoot will be in the summer of 2008.

APOA Pin Shoot June 17 2007

The APOA Father's Day Pin Shoot was a success again! There was a good turn out, and we didn't get rained on, and the wind was tolerable. All in all a nice day.

Thanks to the Aleutian Chapter of the Alaska Peace Officer's Association for planning and conducting this event. Special thanks to Lt. Jamie Sunderland and 1st. Sargeant Matt Betzen for planning and conducting this event. Also a big thanks to Kim Morrison for shopping for food and keeping the grill going during the shoot.

There were 8 shooters in the Revolver division, 15 shooters in the semi-auto division, and 17 shooters in the team division. Winners list to follow in the next post.

Club Officer Meeting

The club officers will be meeting Friday, March 23 to discuss the direction for the club in 2007 including events to be held, membership drive, and planning for the year.

The ARGC blog is intened to keep club members up to date with upcoming events, range road condition reports, and general membership information.

Club Officer elections were held at the general membership meeting March 16th, 7:00 PM.
